Saturday: Drupon Samten Rinpoche leads teachings and practice on mindful sitting meditation along with the 8 precepts.  This weekend practice of the 8-precepts includes taking only 1 meal per day.  If you can not do 1 meal a day, then you can have breakfast and lunch.   Or you can take 7 precepts.  Drupon Samten will give teachings and explanations about these precepts and the accumulation of merit.

Sunday: Drupon Samten will give PadmaSambhava teachings and lead practice and mantra accumulation that will be dedicated for World Peace.  This practice is very important to do this during these current times with so many challenging things going on in the world and within ourselves as well as the earth energies.  It is important for Dharma practitioners to participate to this kind of practice not only in thinking about the mind, but also engaging in the generation and completion stage of deity yoga and sending our rays of positive energy to both the outer and inner worlds.  Lord Buddha Shakamuni taught us that there are many sentient beings who are suffering and it is our responsibility to generate altruistic mind towards others, which is called Bodhichitta. Bodhichitta is needed for those who are Buddhist and Non-Buddhists in order to have sustainable peace and happiness.  Without this kind of inner compassionate thinking the world becomes more challenging and one will experience difficulties in their state of mind. Therefore it is important to liberate oneself of the various conceptual thoughts in order to help others by giving clear and helpful advise on how to keep peace within ourselves and with others.

Sat. Nov. 14th 7:00pm Drupon Samten Rinpoche will give teachings on Refuge from the Jewel Ornament along with a Refuge ceremony for those who would like to take Refuge or renew their refuge vows.  Refuge is a very profound practice and is the root of all practices.
