His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche has taught extensively on the benefits of White Tara practice. Practiced by all four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, White Tara has been the main deity practice of many well-known Buddhist scholars and siddhas in both India and Tibet, foremost among whom were Nagarjuna and Atisha. White Tara’s special function is to promote long life, peace, prosperity, and health through her enlightened activities, both for the practitioner and for others.

We invite you to join us in in accumulating merit by participating in a Volunteer Cleanup Day this coming Saturday, February 10th, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm  in preparation for the upcoming White Dzambhala Drupchen Retreat and Losar Celebration February 15th-18th.

The monastery will provide pizza and salad for lunch.  If you cannot be with us for the entire day, please come for as much time as you can. There will be no evening program on Saturday, the 10th.

His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang will be arriving for a visit to Drikung Kyobpa Choling on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 for a much deserved rest.  Please join us if you are able for a Traditional Welcome Ceremony and receive Holiness’s Blessing.

Since we can't predict the exact time of arrival due to traffic, please plan to arrive around 2:00 pm to prepare to greet His Holiness around 3:00 pm..

Please wear your traditional dress if you have and bring a kata to offer, along with flowers if you like. We will update things as the time is finalized.  It is very auspicious to have the opportunity to Welcome His Holiness in the New Year at DKC.  His Holiness will be taking a short rest at DKC from his very busy travel schedule so it is a wonderful blessing to be in the presence of such a high lama; even if it is only for a brief period of time.

Celebrate the New Year with Drupon Samten Rinpochewho will lead us in Guru Yoga prayers and Tsok Offering.

This will be followed by a potluck lunch. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share or bring your own lunch if you prefer.

Following the lunch will be an afternoon volunteer cleanup period so we invite you to stay and help out if you can. We need to prepare for His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon’s January 4tharrival (and Welcome Ceremony) in the afternoon. Your help is greatly appreciated to get everything tidy and in order for His Holiness to have some quiet rest at DKC from his very busy travel schedule.

We may need additional help on other days, so please let us know if you have time to help out.  We look forward to seeing you!
